TPI Razor

TPI Razor is a premium NinjaTrader 8 indicator designed to cut through market noise and deliver crystal-clear trend detection using a unique midline algorithm paired with a configurable Chop Zone filter. Unlike basic moving average indicators that constantly whipsaw in sideways markets, TPI Razor introduces a three-state trend engine — Bullish, Bearish, and Chop — so you always know whether the market is trending or consolidating before you commit to a trade.

At its core, TPI Razor calculates a dynamic midline by averaging the smoothed highest highs and lowest lows over a configurable lookback period. A Simple Moving Average is applied to both the highest high and lowest low values, and the midline is plotted directly on your chart as a visible reference level. When price moves decisively above the midline plus the Chop Zone threshold, the indicator declares a Bullish state. When price drops below the midline minus the threshold, a Bearish state is triggered. When price hovers near the midline within the dead zone, the indicator switches to Chop mode — a clear warning to avoid trading.

TPI Razor generates visual BUY, SELL, and EXIT signals directly on the chart every time the trend state changes. Green arrows mark bullish entries, red arrows mark bearish entries, and diamond markers signal exits when the market enters the Chop Zone. These signals are accompanied by real-time popup notifications that appear for 8 seconds and fade out gracefully, ensuring you never miss a transition even if you are monitoring multiple charts.

The indicator features full bar and background coloring to give you an at-a-glance view of the current trend state across your entire chart. Green bars and background indicate bullish conditions, red indicates bearish, and yellow highlights the chop zone. Both bar opacity and background opacity are independently adjustable so you can fine-tune the visual intensity to your preference.

For traders who want higher timeframe confirmation, TPI Razor includes a built-in Multi-Timeframe (MTF) mode. Enable the MTF setting and specify a higher timeframe period in minutes — for example, use 30-minute trend signals on a 5-minute chart. When MTF is active, both the primary midline (blue) and the higher timeframe midline (orange dashed) are plotted on your chart, and all signals are derived from the higher timeframe trend state for stronger, more reliable entries.

The glassmorphism-styled dashboard in the top-right corner of your chart provides a real-time summary including the current trend state, trend strength in ticks, actionable advice (Look for buys, Look for sells, or Stay flat), and your current parameter settings. An honest pending performance tracker is built in, simulating 1-contract trades that fill at the open of the next bar after a signal — no cherry-picked entries. The tracker displays cumulative points, dollar P&L, total trades, win/loss count, and current position status, with a one-click RESET button to start fresh at any time.

A built-in interactive help panel (accessible via the blinking ? button) explains every aspect of the indicator in plain English, making TPI Razor beginner-friendly while still powerful enough for experienced traders. The indicator also includes integrated propfirm affiliate promotions via a scrolling ticker and rotating popup card at the bottom of the chart.
